Green agri-tech: James Hutton Institute – Raspberry Economics in Production

The James Hutton Institute has been awarded £1million UKRI funding to revitalise UK’s raspberry industry and will embark on a ground-breaking five-year project called Raspberry Economics in Production.

JHI will utilise cutting-edge genetic technology to develop varieties more resistant to climate change. The project will focus on developing raspberry varieties that require less water, fertiliser and labour to tackle economic issues.
