ENTREPRENEURSHIP: Hunter Foundation announces inaugural scaling up conference

The Hunter Foundation ( https://www.thehunterfoundation.co.uk/ ) is planning to bring together some of the UK and Scotland’s top entrepreneurs this autumn at its inaugural Founders Conference – Scaling Up Scotland.

The event is being held in partnership with the Scottish National Investment Bank, following the existing collaboration on the ScaleUpScotland 2.0 programme.

Taking place on 3 November at Gleneagles Hotel, the conference – also supported by Entrepreneurial Scotland – will feature speakers including THG founder Matthew Moulding and Timpson’s founder James Timpson. Chris van der Kuyl, serial investor and developer of Minecraft is also part of the line-up, as is Darina Garland, co-founder and co-chief executive of pizza oven scale-up Ooni.

Other speakers include Sarah Gilbert, professor of vaccinology at the University of Oxford’s Pandemic Sciences Institute and co-founder of Vaccitech, which initiated development of the Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, and both Lord Willie and Lady Susan Haughey, who will – for the first time together – share their story of building a billion pound family business from the Gorbals.

The conference will be followed by a dinner, which is now sold out, with any profits being donated to charity.
