Under a Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI), organisations could apply for to develop a smart, flexible energy system in the estate of Perth and Kinross council.

This competition was 2 phases :

  • phase 1 up to £150,000, including VAT, to fund up to 5 successful applicants,  each allocated up to £30,000, including VAT
  • phase 2 up to £350,000, including VAT, to fund 2 successful applicants,  each allocated up to £175,000, including VAT.

After a competitive selection process, Perth & Kinross Council chose five project teams to take on the challenge in Phase 1 of the competition. They were:

Team Lead – StorTera with Solo Energy
Team Lead – New Resource Partners with SMP
Team lead – Scene Connect Ltd with Locogen & Swanbarton
