Demeter – Feasibility
Demeter will combine satellite applications (earth observation, GNS and satellite connectivity) and data insight and intelligence to disrupt the current production, processing and distribution within the global food supply chain with sustainable local food ecosystems delivering environmental, societal and economic impact.
This is foreseen to be a platform that would support the planning, operation and ongoing improvement of urban, rural and hybrid models of local food ecosystems. Our philosophy would be based around managing physical, biological and chemical sustainability within local food systems through the integration of clean-tech, circular economy and nature-based solutions.
The local food system would be considered as two interdependent systems: supply and demand. In supply, we would look to map the carbon footprint, societal impact and local accumulative spend in the community. In demand, we would assess the local demand and the scale-up and value add potential.
The outcomes of Demeter will include a holistic stakeholder network and a shared concept and the outputs would be a platform brief, funding review and market insight that will allow us to move onto a feasibility study and then a demonstrator project.
